Japan 2016 Tokyo, Mt Fuji, Kamakura Shot On IPhone 7 DAY1 Touched down and linked up with mom and Mejiro. Had dinner around the area. DAY 2 Headed down to Tsukiji Fish Market to catch a glimpse of the bustling market. Unfortunately, we did not manage to see the auction, but we did try some of the freshest sushi on earth at Ryu Sushi. After which, we rushed back to our hotel to check out. Took the train from Mejiro all the way to Ikebukuro where our second hotel was. After settling in, we headed back out, this time exploring the 2 large shopping malls surrounding the Ikebukuro Station, Tobu and Seibu. DAY 3 We followed a local tour group on our day trip to Fuji-san! First stop was at the 5th Station. Crowded by tourist and ravaged by strong winds, it was exhausting to move around… Then we headed back down the mountain for some lunch at a ninja themed restaurant, Oshino Ninja Village. With the tummy filled, we soaked ourselves in some Onsen. My skin had never felt soooo smooth after a bath. The last on the itinerary was a shopping treat at Gotemba Premium Outlet. I’m not one to shop, so I’ll comment on the view: it had a cozy feel to it. DAY 4 This time, on our own, we made a bold move and travelled to Kamakura, where 2 of the most beautiful temple I have seen resides, Kotokuin Temple and Hasedara Temple. On top of that, we were treated to a sweet little matcha store to satisfy our matcha craving… To our delight, we stumbled across Komachi Street, a long stretch of what I can simply describe as food. With our bellies filled, we took the train back to Tokyo, stopping by at the iconic Tokyo Tower! Unlucky for us, the top deck was close for renovation, so we just had to make do… But we manage to find another tower with a scenic night view of Tokyo at Tokyo City View. The glass panels were huge, top to toe and the glass were cleaner. The view was spectacular (with Tokyo Tower being as magnificent as it already is). After that breath-taking view, we headed back down to explore the night life in Roppongi. DAY 5 Its day 1 of our free and easy in Tokyo! First thing on the list was to visit the famous Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. With all those enormous lantern hanging at the gates, tourist just couldn’t resist taking a picture with it. Then, we walked over (bad idea) to the Tokyo Skytree. But we felt it was a little pricey just for a view of the city so we visited the Pokemon Center there instead. We took a train towards Akihabara, the area renown for its many electronic shops. The place was lit, with all the vibrant and colourful panels and posters. Every building was literally spammed with posters. Along the way back to Ikebukuro, we stopped by the only one of its kind in the world, Shibuya Crossing. And definitely can’t miss the Hachiko Dog Statue (do read the story). We then strolled towards Harajuku. Famous for their many crepes stores, we had to try some. The street was just bustling with shoppers and because it was Halloween, some cos-players as well! DAY 6 The last full day to ourselves and we spent it at the Meiji Shrine. The compound is immense and surprisingly clean. Working back out to the entrance, we stopped by at Yoyogi Park for a little breeze. After which, we headed towards the city where the Imperial Palace resides as well as the infamous Yasukuni Shrine. We ended the day meeting our relatives at Shibuya, near to where they stayed. Just like anywhere else, it was crowded and lively. DAY 7 Checked out and headed home! Conclusion The trip cost my mom and I about SGD2000, of course, she was doing the spending. I was contented with my videos. Not the most wallet-friendly city in the world but definitely one with the best service it can offer. Expect no less from the Japanese, do it thing of the highest of standards. Music Credits Martin Felix Kaczmarski - Hows It Going
