There my not be a run button but the game gives you a run item at the begging of the game.

Please review OFF. I know it's kinda old but you would love it! It's an RPG that can't really be described, it's one of those nostalgic games for me that I would like to be if you reviewed, it a scary RPG but it still can't be put under the horror category. It's just amazing

"...Just keep that in mind instead of thinking you're going to get Chrono Trigger 2."
You mean Chrono Cro- ...never mind. -
This review makes me want to replay Chrono Trigger.

Before my comment, I'd like to state that I didn't play I Am Setsuna or Chono Trigger so I don't have any particular love or a lot of prior knowledge for either. I generally really enjoy your reviews but on this one I think you kind of dropped the ball.
It doesn't feel like you reviewed the game on it's own merits. You keep comparing the game to Chrono Trigger on the behalf that Square Enix said the combat system (and as far as I see, only the combat system) was similar. In your experience it is the same, and I can believe you on that, no problem for acknowledging that. But just looking at the game, it clearly isn't trying to recapture the spirit of Chrono Trigger: Square Enix works with Akira Toriyama and/or artists that could do an artstyle close to that of the man himself on a regular basis (Dragon Quest has the same art direction since the 80's), and on topof that they could have done a pixelart game, especially considering how popular the style is nowadays. The story, as far as I can read in the synopsis, isn't about time travelling or a young boy. They could have done a Chrono Trigger like game but that's a lot a differences that, in my opinion says more something like "we are taking a good combat system from a game that had a good combat system" than "we are trying to recreate the Chrono Trigger vibe".
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of arguments you expose well on the various qualities and flows of the game, I'm not denying that. But all the things about the music that didn't "click" because of the lack orchestral punch that was in Chrono Trigger, about the shiny things on the ground, the chest, or that phrase at 5:03 that I really find outrageous for the poor game artist that pour is heart out to make something good looking and gets a "meh you're no Akira Toriyama" when he or she is not trying to be, all that kind of ruins the review for me..Because it feels like you were expecting for Chrono Trigger, you didn't get it and was disappointed, instead of going in expecting a new game.
Plus, even watching the review with that angle of analysis, you never really get in depth about what Chrono Trigger system is. How do you place your characters? Is it a grid? How do the attacks work? Is there a gauge of super attack so that you can combine your characters' attack? etc. Maybe you assumed your audience knew I guess.
In the end it's not a big deal, eh. I am just writting a lot because I always do that even for minor things. It's just that it was pretty striking on this one. I have no problem with comparison when they are justified but here it feels you are comparing the entirety of the game just because the combat system is the same. -
Sounds like a less likeable Tales of Symphonia.

JRPG is dead.

I Am Unimpressed By I Am Setsuna.
-
Hey NitroRad! You like to do RPG games, so, would you do a review of OFF? Not many people review OFF. Well, not many people I watch...
-
The duration of the game is short. Story and dialogue are at best mediocre. NO idea how this game is compared to chrono trigger by every review I see. Having a similar combat system is not enough to call it an spiritual succesor.
.....I want my 40 $ back. -
you should do a review on gremlins 2 the new batch on nes, trust me it'll be a good video
-
You should do the Earthbound/Mother series.
