After providing us with photographs of the distant planets and moons of the Solar System, the probe is now heading into a new phase of its epic voyage, as scientists back on Earth are receiving signals that Voyager 1 has begun to leave the Solar System’s heliosphere, and enter the harsh conditions of interstellar space.
