How to Survive Winter in Japan | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
Temperature-wise, Japan isn't actually that cold. It's the lack of insulation that will get to you, though. These are my tips for surviving a Japanese winter - as someone from a warm environment trying to not freeze to death in Tokyo. With how tiny your apt is, all you need is a couple of nice space heaters. You can just unlpug them and move them room to room.
-
Dose anyone know why they don't have proper central heating over there?

I'm a Canadian who lived in Japan and South-Korea and I find your videos very interesting, but let me make this one comment: You have the most beautiful eyes I have seen in a very long time. I can't really concentrate on what you're saying to be honest. Très très très jolie fille.

Thank you so much!where do u live? Is it in tokyo or osaka? will it be that cold there too?
-
Thanks. My family and I will be in Japan this December. Your tips helped preparing for that trip.

Pull up your hood or wear a cap or a ski cap; your head is a major source of heat loss.
Keep your feet & head covered and you won't feel as cold. -
great advice for texans

Keep your windows open all winter for two winters in a row. By the third winter your body will have changed so that cold doesn't affect you as much (you'll be hot if it's over 45 degrees).

Hahaha I know so well what you mean :)
Those heat packs are the best!! -
have you tried electric oil heater, looks just like the normal ones from central heating on room walls, and it will heat up the entire room in one or 2 hours .. and will keep it warm. really warm
-
why don't you buy a small heater.......

Canadian here! Do not waste money on heating pad. Put rice in a sock and tow it in the microwave. Have it on you all time. It last for hours.

Here in Quebec Canada, we have -40 celcius for about one month. and two month of -10 to -20. So, we must crank the thermostat.

I live in Canada. Hello from up north👋

Hey I am trying to help homeless people through the winter here in the states and was wondering where I could get some of those heating packs? Did you find them online or were they locally sourced?

I HATE the humidity I japan

Hot water warmer. Haha.. It's old school... :)
Electric blanket is quite efficient. Are you living in Hokkaido? I'll going to visit in Hokkaido in December from Southern California. Gearing up right now at REI. THANKS FOR Your video. 🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻 -
Takes lot of time to get used to Winter anywhere. I been in Minnesota my whole life and one thing I learn is to get ready for Winter before it hits. So the best way to get ready for next Winter is buy Winter stuff after Winter is over and most Winter stuff is on sale at the begin Sring then get some good deals before next Winter.

are ceramic heaters or other little heaters uncommon there?
