Welcome to Ryosuke's cooking show! As y'all know I, aka Ryo-chan, cook most of our meals and enjoy cooking. I don't like spending much money / time on cooking, but still want to make healthy meals. I am not selfish, am I? So, I will teach you how I cook cheap, healthy, easy Japanese food! Sometimes quick... Also, I can't really handle spicy food, so this mabo tofu is Ryosuke-friendly (not spicy ) The ingredients (for 2 servings) are : ・1 clove of garlic and a small chunk of ginger ・1 or 2 stalks of negi / green onion ・A pinch of pepper and a spoon of salt ・100g of ground beef or pork ・5 tablespoons of starch with 100 ml water ・I carton of soft tofu (300g) ・Water 150 ml ・1 or 2 cups of Rice One-time donation (to support the creation of videos): http://howibecametexan.com/donate/ Monthly support via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TexaninTokyo Buy my comic books: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TexaninTokyo My comics (on Amazon): http://goo.gl/5SzZCr My comics (on my blog): http://howibecametexan.com/latest_blog_posts/ 漫画/Manga (日本語/Japanese/ver): http://gaijinwifegaijinlife.hatenablog.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My blog: http://howibecametexan.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TexaninTokyo Twitter: https://twitter.com/texan_in_tokyo

Like i thought the product as tofu doesn't go together with meat. Whats the point of two different protein source in one dish? Go do research, our system can digest only one type of protein (amino acid in fact) at one time, e.g the plant one, or the one coming from meat products. Mixing this together in one dish seems wrong.

To mix MEAT and TOFU together in one dish seems like strange idea tho...
-
I don't think you can really call it Mabo Tofu. "Ma" in Chinese means "numb", which describes the numbing spiciness of the dish. I would call this Japanese Tofu dish or something, not really "Mabo Tofu" at all.

where do I find tofu, I live in America and tofu's not in our local grocery store???
-
About to make this, wish me luck!!!
-
I Love your video really much! and sadly it is hard to find Tofu in Denmark where i live. And also, you forgot to add dashi to the describtion. Btw. What is dashi?
-
I made this a few days ago and it was amazing. I pressed my tofu first though -- so delicious!
-
that is not mabo-tofu
-
the food there seems so much cheaper on alot of things than in America. that tofu looks like stick butter
-
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how this turns out without the meat? I'd like to make this for myself, but I'm not sure how it would turn out
-
its so cheap the food!!

O: When you said "Yay Chef Ryosuke!" I just realized we have the same voice! So shocked!
-
Flavor was awesome. But the description said 5Tablespoons of starch which was waaaay too much... I had mabo Jell-O. Lol... maybe 5 teaspoons?
-
Ryosuke is so adorable when he cooks 😂👌🏻 you got yourself a man
-
love it! at home we usually make it with about 1/2 lb beef, add diced onion, hondashi, and chili peppers. and since we don't usually have starch, we just substitute with flour. we also cut the tofu just like that!
-
Time being a factor detracts from the process.
-
Love it. Easy to make n healthy too.. Thks .
