In today's video I talk about how I finally got a Japanese bank account and how much of a pain in the ass it is to get one. Unfortunately for foreigners it isn't as easy to make a bank account in Japan, but I found it pretty easy by going with Japan Post (though I had to go to 2 branches because the first one wouldn't do it for me grrr). Back then the most convenient bank for westerners that could not speak Japanese is Citibank, but this year Citibank was bought by SMBC not sure how it operates now.

thank you for the bit about how to open a bank account in Japan! that was super helpful! I might end up going to Japan this summer for an internship and was wondering how to do this. My process may be a bit different though since I have japanese citizenship, but thank you none the less! Wish you the best!
