So good, thanks!! I didn't know about that fine tuning bolt. I kept waiting for the part about how to adjust the pad angle so they're toe in... umm... help?
-
Got any top tips on how it up so there is minimal clearance between brake pad and rim?
-
i'm using the Tiagra brakeset and something odd is happening. After pressing the brakes say like 10 times, i notice that the brake alignment will actually be slightly adjusted. Upon further inspection i found out that the screw used to do the fine tuning of the brake alignment is actually moving ever so slightly with each press of the brake! Whats happening?

That was great but too fast. I'll try and watch it parts and make notes.

WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!
PLEASE CHECK YOUR REACH BEFORE BUYING A NEW CALIPER
You guys should update your video to include caliper reach, just bought a used road caliper for my wife's city bike and because the fenders I need a reach of 65mm and the road calipers I bought from craigslist are the typical 49mm max reach. I love your videos but now I will have resell and buy the correct caliper. All the best, thanks for the videos, I watch them regularly
P.S.
Try picking up the pace a little... I mean a full 2 and half minutes to learn how to properly adjust brakes?!?!? Who has time for that LOL. Please note my sarcasm here, I would appreciate if I could follow and perform the task on the video without hitting pause. But then again I am slow MTB guy at heart (head?) ha ha -
Great instruction for laymen like myself.

Helped me alot for my first caliper replacement, thumbs up :)
-
really helpful thanks
-
thanks the heavens. i just watched the howcast video on installing brakes and the guy seemed unsure which made me unsure. thank you for the confidence in your videos.

My rear brake doesnt release from the wheel after i release the brake, i have tried all the usual, tightening cable, adjustment screws but nothing works. Any ideas?
-
this is how to make a youtube video! short and to the point, dynamic. No fat.
-
first let me say im a big fan of GCN!
Dan says: "turning the screw anti-clockwise will rotate the caliper clockwise and turning it anti-clockwise will do the opposite" -
what do i do when I've tighten the screws enough but the still the brake calipers tend to move while braking?
-
Except if you're a crazy fixie rider.

Sorry for asking iam a real newbie here. But would it make any sense to change from my Shimano BR-R561 Black Super SLR Dual pivot to a more exepensivs one like Shimano Ultegra 6800 or 6810? Would i gain anything from doing so?

Does anyone know how to find out if a set of front calipers will fit a rim/tire width? My tire says 700x32c and it seems like all the videos on youtube are on bikes with thinner tires. Thanks!
-
+Global Cycling Network , is it necessary to apply thread locker to the centering screw? I have a shimano 561 brake on my bike and I have the impression that it is loosening sometimes. In this brake model, the centering screw is on the top left of the brake caliper. Thanks!

Thanks for the vid. I was wondering how many of those toothed washers are needed and in what order are they assembled to the frame? Cheers

The Stud on the front Caliper (obviously the longer of the two) doesn't seem to be long enough to fit through my Carbon Forks, is there a such thing as an extra long/deep Caliper bolt?

I've just replaced my rear unbranded shimano caliper with a Tiagra; however I can't get the pads to line up with the braking surface of the rims. They're rubbing on the tyres and I can't move the blocks any further down. Any suggestions?
