My stamina does not exist! I only revise/study around 2hours on the day before the exam to ensure that im not missing anything out, and the lowest grade I ever got for an important exams was 76%... I really wish i could focus for 2hours or even just 1hour on weekdays or just weekends but nah, it doesn't work like that for me... probably its got to do with culture... but i do focus in class.
One of the reason I admire japanese is because of their commitment to their own education :) -
For university, I didn't take entrance exams. They look solely at your transcript for grades 11 and 12 and application essays. So the whole of those two years, I studied from 6pm-2am on weekdays, more or less. I slept for 12 hours every Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, I studied about an extra two hours than weekdays. This was a top ranking school in Canada, and I got into a top ranking university in Canada.
I've been at university for over a year now and there's either people who are used to studying a lot like me, or people who are innately intelligent, or dropouts that got in through easy grades, that are barely passing. -
Why is your Japamnese so good?
-
I barely study but I have better grades then honors wow
-
Damn when I come home ( mostly about 16:30 ) I Will eat dinner and then make homework for only 2-3 Hours... wow they study a lot😫
-

In my country the curriculum is standardized so universities will accept you based on your course averages from grade 12. For instance to get into engineering or science you need good math and science marks and a minimum number of university preparation level courses from high school. Different universities have different minimum requirements to get in based on how good they are and if a lot of people apply then they take those with the highest marks. I got in to a larger university with a 90% average. If you just want to go to a technical collage they have easier courses in high school that will allow you to get into one but not count towards university.

Cathy Cat >< I have a doubt that has been hanging around my head about Kanji , maybe you could know the answer or ask to someone who may know .
I was reading reasons why kanji shouldn't be removed from the Japanese language, one of them is that there are many homophones , without kanji people wouldn't be able to communicate clearly. However, what happens in spoken language? If the spoken Japanese can be understood in context, Can't you could do the same in written language?
After the second world war‚ the Japanese ministry of education reformed the written language‚ they didn’t just get rid of this discrepancy between written and spoken Japanese‚ they also got rid of some 7000 kanji‚ restricting the number of kanji to be used in daily life to around 3500‚ and designating a set of less than 2000 kanji as part of general education. In this case, Japanese couldn't be reformed in a way that have less homophones and facilitate written language for Japanese and other people who want to learn this language? Such as including language synonymous words that becomes a natural part of Japanese with the passage of time, as the gradual changes that were made in Chinese characters. -
The college-going rate is about 50% and studying over 10 hours (like 2:30 him)student is about 20% if you want to continue to college(top 10%), you have to study over a year at least.

We have to take at least 2 major different tests, for math and reading (and science once in a while) every year just to get to the next grade level. On top of the final exams for every single class. All these tests would take about 2 months every year before we got to the next grade level, get the credits to pass the classes, then do it all over again. Every. Single. Year.
-
hahahahahahaha ever tried preparatory classes?.... you study like hell for two years...and barely make it !!!!!
-
Holy shit I should be ashamed of myself
-
Koreans study a lot more than Japanese, but DAMN, that's a lot of dedication. a but envious in a way…

In my highschool entrance exam, I didn't study much and I made it. The same thing didn't work for public university entrance exam, I regret. Now I ended up in a private university, a nice one (but it is expensive for our people's standard).
Yeah I used to be lazy and smart, but now I'm just lazy lol. -
In Mongolia, some middle and high schools take entrance exams. For university, you take tests like SAT in fields you are interested in.

hmmm nothing special, every good student has to spend a lot of hours studying when it's exams period, or to get a good score for high school / university. Some people study at university while working full time which is way harder.
