(字幕あり) I am going to show you how easy it is to get a job in Japan. I am going to get up, and get a job ^^ If you speak Japanese you can get a job, if you don't speak well, don't fear you can still have hope (after all I know of at least 4 people who have very very little to no Japanese skills and they have a job in a restaraunt). FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T READ JAPANESE OR HAVE VERY LIMITED SKILLS (just starting Japanese) Tokyo craigs list is a English site you can find jobs. http://tokyo.craigslist.jp/search/jjj You can try to find a English speaking owned restaraunt and walk in to ask if they have a job available. Friend of a Friend is another way to find a job, or have a person who can read Japanese set you up with an easy job. Heres a foreigner website to find jobs http://www.gaikokujins.com/ http://gtn-job.com/eng VOCAB バイト baito - baito job (a non lifetime not stable job usually only students or housewives get) 時給 jikyuu - wage 日払い hibarai - pay everyday 週払い shuubarai - pay everyweek まかない makanai - they feed you at work 短期間 tankikan - short term work 検索 kensaku - search 応募 oubo - apply for job /searching for job 募集 boshuu - hiring 面接 mensetsu - interview 説明会 setsumeikai - information session 髪型自由 kamigata jiyuu - anyhairstyle is ok ネイル自由 neiru jiyuu - you can do your nails etc. no need to worry about having no nail polish 採用 -saiyou - hire MY NAME IS MIRA. Hi Mira. I'm sure that there are some people who could benefit from this video a bit. For example, this video might be helpful to those who have or are in a position to acquire permanent residence soon or those who will be in Japan as students and are looking for some work to do on the side. It could also help those who will come to Japan to live with their Japanese fiance. These types of visas (albeit with quite a few limitations in the case of the student visa), allow holders to work in restaurants and other jobs that are classified by the government as "non-skilled". HOWEVER, I think it would be helpful to let people know that it is not possible to get a visa specifically to do this type of job before coming to Japan and the "instructor" visa that current ALTs have or the "humanities" visa that current Eikaiwa folks have would not allow them to switch to a job at a restaurant. I think, therefore, that this video may have been a bit misleading for the majority of viewers, and most of the people who have visas that do actually allow them to get a job working at a restaurant have likely been living in Japan for a long time (especially in the case of Permanent Residence holders) and already understand almost everything that was shown in this video. So i really question who exactly this video was for (I guess mainly for people who are in or will be coming to japan as students or as the spouse/fiance of a Japanese citizen? But that probably accounts for a rather small percentage of the peopl watching this video!). Also, it might be worth doing some research about how to get a non-english teaching "skilled" job in Japan. This would be more helpful for a wider range of viewers

I think the problem for most people who wants to find a job in Japan is the visa issue. You cannot work in a restaurant with a tourist visa, and to get an employment visa you need a company to sponsor you.

To the OP do you find it surprising that they chose you because Asians in general think that White people have a good education and background?

Hey Mira,
What is your JLPT level at the time of filming the video?
Currently, I'm trying to nail my N2, I lived in Japan for a year (exchange program as a part of my Japanese major), surely I learned sonkeigo, kenjougo and teineigo, bt I'm not sure if rather your previous experience played a major role in getting the job or rather your certificates (JLPT, etc.).
My question is: Is N2 cerificate enough for the companies to consider your application for the job or not?
Thank you. -
How many chances of finding a job with n4-n3 jlpt?
Looks like i'm working as mute boxes packager till the rest of my life, or at least until i get n2...
