Grilling whale meat illegally at a Tokyo restaurant | Tokyo

We finally found a grill restaurant at Repongi area of Tokyo, pulled out our iced, packaged whale meat with kobe beef as our undercover, to have a showdown between whale vs. kobe. My hope is to find out why Japanese people want to eat whale meat, and if it's really that good.

Horrible. I wouldn't feed whale meat to my dog. For one thing, it contains too much mercury, which is poisonous. Apart from that, it's the most unethical meat on planet Earth. Video downvoted!

Westerners seem to believe their opinions should be the law. They don't eat whales? Ban whale eating! They don't eat shark fin? Ban eating of shark fin! They don't eat dogs? Ban eating of dogs! They eat goose forced fed for enlarged livers? Oh that is fine. Goose are too stupid to understand they have been tortured.

Nothing wrong with whale meat, it's not illegal. At least not here in Norway. The hunting of whales is very limited and only of species (minke whale, specifically) that are in abundance and not endangered in any way. The population of minke whale, which is the only one be hunted and under strict guidelines to make sure the animal dies quickly with explosive torpedoes (yet we have hunting in the wild where nobody even gives a shit that there is a big possibility that you may fail to kill the animal and only injure it or it may take a long time for it to die) The population of minke whale has actually grown due to whaling, as there is so many of them (over 200,000 in the northern atlantic and only 1000-1500 are hunted each year).

Never tried whale meat but looks good. Ethically it would be nice if the Japanese could make some whale farms but history shows they don't care about conservation of them

Whales are hunted and eaten in 14 countries including the USA, Canada, Russia, Carribean, Indonesia, Pacific Islands, European countries. Stop being hypocrite. White pigs.
