Golden Gai in Shinjuku is a very fascinating window into the near past of the great city of Tokyo. It has resisted redevelopment and is a reminder of the narrow alleys and small houses that used to dominate the city. Found in Shinjuku-ku down a small forested path it is one of the gems of this city. But with the rise of Tripadvisor and the like it is now being overrun (in summer at least) by tourists. Keep and eye out for more videos in this series as we will be featuring different and little known places with great nightlife around the city.
