So..In stock form, the Mazda RX-8 doesn't have an ill-mannered molecule in its entire structure. It's a sports car that seems determined to protect you from trouble — sort of the opposite of an old Shelby Cobra. So maybe it's sexist that in The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift it's been cast as the girl's car. At least it's less strikingly sexist than the Pepto Abysmal Pink Honda S2000 the female character piloted in 2 Fast 2 Furious. **I'm totally biased** but.... Don't you think its limiting to measure a car strictly in straight line runs? How about turning and handling? The RX8 that I drove felt like it was glued to the road and took turns better then anything I've ever driven. If its just 1/4 mile runs your looking at one part of what makes a car great. I had a 1968 Pontiac that would do fine numbers in the 1/4 mile but it turned like an ocean liner.

HAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA! My mostly stock naturally aspirated rx 8 will hit 60 in 6.7 no problem, and probably runs closer to 5.7 with a good launch! Only the morons from fast and furious would turbo a car and make it slower!

@hoodman420 the car is down on power from doing all those stunts in the movie, though it got very little screen time. Also the rotary engine started giving some trouble. That car was driven HARD so i dont see why it wouldnt be down on power

6.7 sec zero to 60? With a turbo installed? No way! I am faster than that with my STOCK RX8. That turbo adds like 100HP. How the F can it have a worse time with 100 more HP?

@hoodman420 does yours have that huge spoiler on it? that hurts a little in a straight line because of how it pushes the back of the car into the ground

Wow. i wonder if it's the 4 port engine. Bc i drive a stock Rx-8(us) with 6 port engine and my numbers are pretty close to those. that must be a mild turbo.

Cars not really made to be raced. Its made to go to the store, and feel like your having sex at the same time. Its just SOOOOOO SMOOTH! The rx8 just, feels perfect! Sure its not the fastest, but you'll never want to leave it.
