I'd also suggest to know your measurements before going to the store, since patterns don't go by ready to wear/store bought clothing sizes! Especially if you are buying the pattern when you go to store!(because you could be in a completely different set of patterns if you pick up the pattern packet for your ready to wear size and not your measurements/pattern sizes!

Where did you find that kind of croqui
-
Yay! Great video keep up the awesome work!

Can you possibly go more into detail about estimating how much fabric you'll need for something? Like how to make a guess? For like basic things like boot covers and skirts and stuff and how to factor in things to guess.

new hawkgirl?? :D :D :D

You should have mentioned that you should check the size measurements on the pattern as sometimes it varies, and they don't go by normal sizing conventions (some do, but all the ones I've found don't). I'm a size 12/14 in normal sizing, but I am a 20 (usually) in patterns. Sometimes they'll work in XS - XL sizing but that can sometimes vary in reliability as well. I suggest measuring the pieces of your pattern (factoring in how much of that is seam allowance) and comparing each size to yourself to better find the size you'll need. I recently had an issue with the size measurements on the packet, which said I was an XL when I was a M and so my costume was way way too big and I had no extra fabric or money to fix it. I managed to fit it to an extent, but I have wings under my arms - luckily it worked out looking okay for the character as it was a original gijinka design.

My family owns a fabric store and we always sell our patterns at 50% off. If anyone is near Southern California and looking for some fabric, patterns, yarn or notions check out Fabric Town USA in Ventura, California. We have 10,000 square feet of fabric, yarn, and notions.

How do you feel about spending $20 on patterns? It always makes me sad haha.
-
Where is the pattern that you had? Where can I get it?
-
I use the plus size version of that pattern. 😅
