A very special plane visited Melbourne Airport today for only a few hours! This 23 year old Antonov AN-124 is seen here departing for Guam transporting a spare engine for the Jetstar Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which is currently grounded there. The Jetstar plane was completing a routine Tokyo - Melbourne route when it came into engine trouble and diverted to Guam. Originally scheduled for 11pm I was very happy to hear it's layover time had been severely shortened and was set to leave at 1:10pm I couldn't make the arrival but am overall very happy that I managed to see this plane =) So that's 2 special arrivals in two days.
