His best album. So raw, holds up and still sounds fresh. He should make more albums in six weeks.

This whole tour reeked of Sylvian being embarassed about how good he was once. Trying so desperately to make songs like Maria and Jean The Birdman hard to deal with, as if that makes it inherently better. Someone needs to tell this guy that being engaging to the common man is not a bad thing.

I've been a very strong Sylvian fan over the years, but I must admit this show is a bit heavy going for me . While the songs from "Gone to Earth" and VOT Beehive still sound great, I rather preferred the contemplative songs like "September" and "Laughter and Forgetting" which managed to work beautifully and fully in two minutes. Now the same sort of material is less focused, less effective and seems to take 10-15 minutes to perform.

That's absolutely amazing. David Sylvian for me is one of the greatest artist on this planet. Totally unique.

adoro el arte de este hombre

Glad the lady Di hair cut has gone, not really sure what he's doing here, it's gone all art and obscure. I guess he's got to do something with all that time on his hands.

Absolutely incredible, David Sylvian from the moment I first heard his work made its way straight into my heart and mind. I hold his words, music and process closely to me both as a person and musician. It doesn't get any better than finding an artist that helps you along your life journey.....

The highlight of this gig when I saw it in London was definitely The Other Side of Life, just beautiful but sadly missing here. Someone captured it at the Festival Hall but it's been taken down now. If anyone knows if there's a version anywhere please let me know.

Where can I buy the DVD version?

I'm torn between 'if you can't say anything positive, don't say anything at all', and he looks great on it (doing what you want to do, as opposed to doing what pays the bills), like the rest of us do. I remember seeing him on this tour at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, I'd forgotten it was that long ago.
