Classic Game Room reviews TOKYO XTREME RACER 1 for Dreamcast | Tokyo

Classic Game Room reviews TOKYO XTREME RACER 1 for the Sega Dreamcast video game console. This old school review from back in the year 2000 looks at an excellent driving/gang warfare game on the Sega Dreamcast video game system. This game is so addictive you can't put it down. Race on the highway in a variety of cars that aren't real cars but sure as hell look like real cars from Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Honda and Mazda. Race all over Japan's freeway system and compete against rival gangs in this extremely fun and well made arcade racer. You can rice-boy your car out with wings, body work and mufflers and all kinds of crap to make it go faster. It's like gang warfare without machine guns, just fast cars. If you like race car games like Forza 2 and Gran Turismo 5 but also like arcade racers then this game is right up your alley. It's a lot of fun and addictive, gameplay is solid and the footage shows this. In a chance to redeem ourself from the ill-fated Perfect Dark review that nobody liked, here's the Classic Game Room review show review of TOKYO XTREME RACER 1! Not Tokyo Extreme Racer, that has an "e" in it! We also reviewed Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 in a separate review. Do you remember the rock band XTREME and "More Than Words?" Screw that! This is Tokyo XTREME Racer! XXXTREME!

They may not use the cars actual names but what they do use are the chassis codes for the respective cars

Si Senor. Probly in sadness of what gaming fast had become after Mega-CD im quite sure i swapped some game/s for this, in hope for some gameplay oldschoolstyle. ¤> And it just happened to be AWESOME! <¤ Developers seemed to lose all of freedom, imagination, selfconfidence, the way - thru joy to make GAMEmusic and games at all..STUPID and scared they all sat paralyzed staring at ech other with stupid words whisper *FMV, 3D, realistic music..* in stead of what we wanted: 2D Mega-Opti-Shiny

The Need For Speed predates this game.

OK to all you ppl who try and compare Tokyo extreme racing to NFS and saying it wasn't the first need for speed underground 1 and 2 are the only NFS games similar to Tokyo extreme racing and both of thoughts came out well after this game. Even NFS undergrounds differ a bit. I personally think NFS has been garbage with exception to underground 2 all others stunk.

wow
-
didn't some association take down every single bob ross video in your stash? fuckers.
-
The older NFS games were a lot better, especially the first and the fifth.
-
If it wasn't for this game, Need For Speed wouldn't be shit. This game is badass. just wish that nfs had started to make better games by now, or atleast games without misleading titles such as most wanted. ):

I just love how yall puts this over NFS like its started the Underground series which is better because the Underground series is based of THE FAST AND THE FUCKING FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!
