Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts, hats, mugs & gear! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room HD reviews TOKYO XTREME RACER 3 for the Playstation 2. Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 on PS2 is a driving/combat/strategy game where players race against rival gangs with silly names on the highways of Japan. Unlike previous games in the series, Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 has roads winding through the freeway systems of Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. They all look pretty similar though, dark with some neon on buildings. Even though TXR3 is technically a driving game the game's strength is in the competition, customization and highly addictive gameplay. Drive cars from major manufacturers like Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai. Win money and supercharge them with 600 hp engines and get sucked into the addiction that is Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3. Even if the game is impossible to finish (because of a glitch), for a reasonable price you'll get weeks of enjoyment and competition from this sub par driving game that is a wildly fun highway combat game. This CGR review of Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 has gameplay from the PS2 version of Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 on Playstation 2.

If i remember correctly, there is a 1982-86 Pontiac Firebird T/A with a Iron Duke I4 in that game.

Because Wangan Midnight.

I've beaten the end boss no problem but I would love to see this on pen or Xbox live re made in hd
-
txr3 fans wanted on nfs ps4

The music in this game alone... I cant believe I beat this game 2.5 times back in the day considering how incredibly long it was. Something about it just gripped me and just didnt let go.

If you play this on ps2 emu with the wheel mod plugin, and a Logitech wheel (dfp or g25-7), you can erase the dead zone and have more fun than on gt4. This game handles like wangan midnight (without the annoying card system and almost undriftable handling).

Hah! The guitar in that music track is so screechy! lmao!
Love it.
I've only ever played the demo of Tokyo Xtrememe Racer on the Dreamcast, but I couldn't get enough of it.
Sadly, in those days I was a bit broke and never managed to get the full game. When stacked against bigger titles of the time, it just never happened.
Something like this would still sell very well, I think. -
I think Mark has been playing this game wrong because I'm only on day 22 and I have roughly 200,000 CP. In the TXR games, its best to save up your money until you know you have the money to buy all those parts for that car.

yeah i love the series... i cant disagree the handling physics arent great, the backgrounds are dull, but is fun as hell

Number 3 improved the driving A LOT. If you actually tried in TXR3, it got difficult at times, especially when your tires wore out. The high mileage glitch/trick was awesome since it enabled engine swaps (inline 6 turbo on an AE86 is amazing). My R34 Skyline was awesome in this game! Engine swap, full mods, and full aero made that car hit like 220 mph with the right tuning setup. God I miss that car!

Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero had licensed cars. The reason why they all had different names is because each car went by their chassis code name instead of using their model names. Thats why most people are so confused when they find that their favourite cars bear a strange code name.

Not available in europe..... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I have Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero. Car dynamics suck, but as you said something about the game is addictive. I always hated how the AI cars would never move--I don't even think you can pit maneuver them! I think what I liked most was just seeing a wide variety of cars.

I have beaten this one more dozens of times than I can remember. no glitches after a download to repair it as I remember. I have many of them yet & enjoyed them immensely. Driving in it is easier when you keep your thumb off the steering control, but just "titch" it in the desired direction. It's a lot smoother that way. Wondering if the new PS4 can handle the older games? I have a ton of them. Need for speed underground too.
-
yeb thats how i did. game shark code had to buy a car and race an stupid slow van car and find all the wonderes,in order to beat this game you had to cheat???????
-
One of my top 10 ps2 games....so good.
-
Even I do the same thing to the driver thats faster than me on this game. block and pin them in. its the only way to beat them if your car is slower than theirs.

Wow. Accurate intro - and review. I love this series. Haha so true about the necessity of jackass driving.
