Check out the cities with the most millionaires. If you like to hobnob with millionaires, Tokyo is the place to be. London-based Wealthinsight, an independent research firm, gave it the top spot on its list of cities with the most millionaires. Their calculations included the sum of one's assets sans their primary residence. Tokyo turned up 461 thousand qualifiers with New York coming in second place at 389 thousand. London, Paris, and Frankfurt rounded out the top 5. Tokyo's rank is attributed to its population density, with most Japanese millionaires living in the primary city. The US has 3 million more of them, but they are spread out across the country. A million dollars doesn't go as far as it used to, so those with only one to throw around will have a hard time buying into the US's truly spendy areas. For example, the median home price in Atherton, California is 4.6 million dollars, but, from time to time, homes for just over 1 mil do pop up. In 2012, a property was listed for 1.15 million and offered 1500 square feet of living space on one-seventh of an acre.
