Cherry Blossoms in the Tokyo Imperial Palace 2014 | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
To celebrate the Emperor's 80th Birthday, the Tokyo Imperial Palace was open to the public on April 4-8, 2014 to view the Cherry Blossoms inside the Palace grounds. It felt like half of the population of Tokyo came out for this special event. For more pictures of the Cherry Blossom event see: http://ocgirl.net/cherry-blossom-at-imperial-palace/

We went for sakura season in Tokyo this year. I saw your video before our trip, but alas, I did not heed your warning and went ahead, with everyone else, to the Imperial Palace. It was definitely a different kind of experience. The cherry blossoms weren't completely in full bloom, but still beautiful. Not recommended for everyone. Glad I stopped at a restroom before the probably hour plus wait. I guess I was just determined to see as many cherry blossoms as I could during the trip. =)

We must have been there almost the same time. If you look at our video (of this year's hanami, we have a shot of the moat at the Emperor's palace as well as Yasukuni (across the street).
