Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo, Japan -- My wife and I woke up at 3:30 am, hailed a cab on the rain slick streets of Tokyo and headed down to the Tsukiji Fish Market in the hopes to be one of the 120 lucky individuals admitted to the tuna auction. We arrived at the guard gate at 4:15 am only to be told that the allotted spots had been filled for the morning's auction. Now what? Tourist are not allowed into the fish market until 9 am, we don't want to go back to our Ryokan, so we opted for a little sushi breakfast....Sushi Dai was the recommended eatery. two eggs + bread + milk = my breakfast. What a difference.

So I just got back from Tokyo, 3 weeks ago and my friend who is a local, took us to sushi dai, we waited about 5hours in line and 6am...and let me tell you its worth the god damn wait...the hype is real!

i had sushi here last week. NEVER AGAIN. the sushi was TOTALLY UNCOOKED. i had to send it back and the chef deep fried it. he knew hed done wrong cos he was wearing a rising sun headband

overrated - only for tourists. You dont need to queue for 2 hrs to have similar quality sushi in Japan.

I believe there are few place we can eat really great sushi in Sydney. Real experienced sushi chef from Japan runs the restaurant. . Cost would be...the most problem.
