Percy is God
-
Wow, just wow.....
-
I am an enormous fan of the Fretless Bass. My favorites are, Mick Karn, Tony Levin, Alan Spenner, Jaco Pastorius, etc...
But my ALL TIME FAVORITE is and always will be Percy Jones. I can't explain it, but he is just so freakin unique. Nobody can touch him. I got to meet him twice. He's a fine gentleman! Thanks for posting this video. So much fun to watch and hear. -
NO ME CORTES EL FINAAAAL muy sarpado, alguien save si estos tienen algun proyecto juntos?
-
I saw this man live three times in the late 70's and early 80's. In my humble opinion he is one of the best bassist of all time.
-
killer drums too
-
After seeing him do a solo gig (opened for McGill, Manring, Stevens), I couldn't agree less regarding him soloing.
-
It kills me that I was in Tokyo at the time but was doing other less valuable stuff. Would some please create a freaking time machine.
-
Percy is god. If Percy plays a note, you must know that it's the right note. If he uses a pause, then you know it's time for silence. :-)
-
search for Stanley Clarke - School Daze. You ain't seen nothin yett
-
This is neat - reminds me of Stanley Clarke from the 1970's - and I mean that in agod way
-
Every time I watch Percy's playing, I have to stop and pick my jaw up off the floor.
-
Tonality and texture over speed and flourish -
-
im so glad to hear somone else mean that to. i love you. merry me now!
-
Victor is fast, but doesn't have an ounce of soul. Percy is second in my book only to the late Jaco Pastorius. Victor's solos are "lookatme!!!" masturbation, Percy's try to say something original.
-
Well, he remains my favourite bass player after all these years. Terrific drums too. A great clip.
-
Percy and Mick Karn are the greatest living fretless bassists imho. Imaginative, explorative and sublime tone.
