Pepper Lunch is way too expensive in Canada. I wish in Canada they followed the same price lines as they are in Tokyo or across the world.

Oh man I recognize the outside of 名古屋城 at the end of the video!
Side note: I really liked katsuya when I went to Japan, katsudon is life! -
When we're talking about Asian food, In Japan (and certainly East & Southeast Asia in general), rice is always THE staple and main dish, never the side dish (like in America). So it's "rice with a side of curry", not "curry with a side of rice". I remember when I first came to the US and went to Panda Express, the server told me to choose a side dish and I pointed at the Orange Chicken. Then he told me "No, what SIDE dish you want, rice or chow mein?" and I said "RICE IS NOT SIDE DISH!!" LOL

Is that the Matsumoto castle right at the end?

I thought Yoshinoya specialized in beef bowls; not pork bowls as you said.

If I'm not wrong, Pepper Lunch is a Chinese or Taiwanese franchise....whilst it's cheap, yes, why would you eat that in Japan?! Gahhh

If your in the convenience store, look for triangle packaged seaweed(nori). This is Onigiri, a riceball stuffed with delicious things and wrapped in nori. It is absolutely one of the best things on earth.

I'm going on holiday to Tokyo this July for two week, I don't want to have to go out for an expensive lunch/dinner everyday though so this video is really helpful. Also it's great that you included places that still do the more traditional Japanese food that everyone goes to japan to try like tempura and takoyaki. I will definitely be visiting a few of the places you recommended!
