Berlin 1900 in colour!!!! | Tokyo
Information | History | View | Sightseeing | Video
this is a video showing berlin, the german capital around the year 1900, although the last scenes are from 1914. ENJOY! P.S I´m sick of repeating it time after time, so here is the following: i just wanted to keep the title as short as possible, so i didn´t want to write " Berlin and germany in the years of 1890-1920" . therfore, i chose the year 1900 to give the viewer a general idea of about what year the footage he is watching is from. So yes, some scenes are from munich,(2) although the very most, 98% or so is indeed Berlin footage. If you own some of that footage or and want credit for it or want it removed, please send me a message and I will delete it immidiatley! Thank you.

This is so wrong! So much wrong.. that this isn't shown in schools around the world to teach of the days passed. This is utterly sheer brilliant.. with a perfect sound edded (Time)

The disconnect that black and white footage creates is astonishing. Once you put old footage in color it almost feels like you can actually relate to these people.

Fantastic film - really seems to capture the mood of the country. With that said, some of this footage is from Munich eg. the Feldherrnhalle. But really interesting to watch!

I did not expect the affect that resulted from seeing 100+ year old films slowed to actual speed and in color. Suddenly the past didn't seem so polarized, it all seemed very recent, very real, as though I could see myself there with less difficulty. In truth, it was very recent and it all looked more "modern" than it did dated. What a remarkable sensation. The unexpected emotion I received from seeing these living people, even the infants now all most certainly passed on, is to pay attention to what truly matters in this life. It really gets one to think about what is really important. What a wonderful sensation.
