Tokyo, Japan October 26, 2016 Tokyo, Japan October 26, 2016 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was welcomed by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo. Upon the arrival of the President, the national anthems of the Philippines and Japan were played and the two leaders inspected the Self-Defense Forces Honour Guards thereafter. President Duterte bowed in front of the Japanese flag, while Prime Minister Abe did the same to the flag of the Philippines. As soon as they returned to the dais, Consul General Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio, Charges D’ Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, introduced the members of the Philippine delegation to the Prime Minister while Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhide Ishikawa introduced the Japanese officials to the President.
