To say the truth, this should be the crown jewel of Japan, regardless of its design interpretation or forms, the fame that it had created had make its impact on people across the world which become iconic and show boldness toward the future of Japan. Now, Kenzo Kuma's stadium is good and appropriate to Japanese ideology, but somehow feel boring and I think it will be forgotten and became just a another stadium in Tokyo.

The bigger and the more expensive it is. The better it will be for the economy. Countries like Japan need these types of projects to re-ignite some stagnant production rates plus more jobs! Besides, some people spend $600 Billion on war. Just saying...

come on its the olympics of course they want it fancy

When players of your country come to Tokyo Olympics,
please ask them to bring their meals with them.
Fukushima is planing to serve the meals for the athelete's village. -
today july 17, 2015 the zaha plan has officially cancelled. 0:37 the two keel arches and the openable roof cause cost too expensive. it costs as much as they can build 2 big stadiums. my view is that the british architest and the japanese constructors dont share the earthquake resistance standards.

Nice stadium - Good for Japan

If they want to spend 1.7 billion dollars in a stadium, well let them it's their money not ours.

Having a gigantic stadium is not a impossible for Japan
There were actually the first high tech country in Asia
No offense but Korea is nothing compare to them they just actually emerged after the earth quake..just an opinion.. -
イギリスのBBCらしく日本を馬鹿にした姿勢は一貫してますね。

That's right. It's way too big and too expensive. GDP growth rate of jappoland is low for decades, it doesn't deserve to have that huge facility. Re-use of the old Olympic Games stadium is good enough.

I think it's okay if all the plans include useful function even after the end of Tokyo Olympic. But as for this elephant ... JPN

Looks cool, but I would say that if they have a stadium big enough to host the Olympics already in Tokyo, they shouldn't spend almost two billion dollars just to build another one.
