At the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan introduced the retro-inspired IDx Freeflow and IDx Nismo concepts. Both of these concepts boasts the retro-design inspired by the legendary Skyline sports car but also featuring with high technology twist which includes the interior equipped with futuristic cabins. The IDx Freeflow concept measures around 4.1 meters long, 1.7 meters wide and 1.3 meters high. This car also has floating roof and wears 18-inch alloy rims, whereas the exterior paint is a combination of white and flax (light brown). It is believed that thwo engine options are available, either a 1.2-liter or a 1.5-liter petrol engine. They are mated to the fuel-efficient X-TRONIC CVT transmission. The sporty IDx Nismo on the other hand has the same length and height but it is wider than the Freeflow concept which is 0.1 meters wider. This concept car wears a larger 18-inch alloy rims along with 225/40 tyres. It also benefits from the sporty body kit alongside it's race inspired cockpit with numerous metal surfaces. Under the bonnet, the IDx Nismo is powered by a 1.6-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine with a CVT gearbox boasting six virtual ratios and a synchronised rev control feature like that you get on the Nissan 370Z sports car. Nissan mentions that both concept cars are simply for conceptual purposes and there will be no direct production derivative. It is been hinted that the IDx concept cars will set to rival the likes of the Toyobaru trio (Toyota 86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ).
