Airport Code Facts from iNeverKnewThat.com | Tokyo

Book your flight and you'll notice your airport always has a three-letter code. That's because in 1929 the International Air Transport Association began assigning three-letter codes to airports. Some airports already had two-letter weather station codes like LA so for them an X was simply added to the end; Chicago's O'Hare is ORD because it was orignally Orchard Field; while Tokyo's is HND for Haneda Airport.
