i am sorry wilson
-
I dont think that they wouldn't knwo that they had bounced on landing
thats a humongous assumption! -
they said no one got killed at the start
-
this is disaser
-
I'm confused? Did I hear the narrator of this video state that the investigators asked 'Boeing' to simulate what the pilots would have seen from the cockpit after the first bounce? Surely, they mean McDonnell Douglas right? Because it's not a Boeing aircraft.
-
McDowell's DC-10 IS grandpa of McDowell's MD-11
-
If your wondering why in the first few mins of the video the narrator said Boeing MD-11, McDonnell Douglas got purchased or merged (can't remember) with Boeing.
-
So this is why my package came late
-
again a DC10?
-
That's why I never got my jacket
-
I like to see these investigations made by intelligent people, every tiny detail counts and this improves safety
-
Lost my mail package :(
-
Did anyone notice the passenger windows in the reconstruction of the wreckage, on a cargo jet!!!!
-
MD-11, DC-10, both are not successful at simply.... flying... McDonnel Douglas, the three engine aircraft program just doesn't work as well as two/four.
-
No wonder my mail was late

This is very interesting as when sinking at a normal rate and the wheel touch the ground, since the wheels are normally behind the centre of gravity there would be a tendency for the momentum of the plane to cause the nose to sink. So I would have thought that a pilot since the plane is still moving forward rather fast, he would either keep the stick in the same place or be prepared to pull the nose up to counteract the action of the bounce. At this stage any plane would afford to roll on the runway with a nose up attitude and there was no hurry to bring the nose down so quickly which was detrimental.
Perhaps the morale of the story, is that pilots are given time to sleep and they should go and sleep. -
Nice episode
-
no wonder my package never got here
-
So they designed the plane with a small tail in order save on fuel, but you have to fly really fast to keep it from pitching. How much are you really saving on fuel?
