A day in Tokyo, Japan, in 1963 東京 | Tokyo

A Japanese family wakes up in Tokyo and goes to work. Great postwar changes were still to take place but even then the city looked hectic. This was still the Showa era that is remembered nostalgically . Also scenes from the JOKR-TV studios See my other 1000 clips by searching YouTube with 'michael rogge' Website 'Man and the Unknown' http://wichm.home.xs4all.nl/

Amazing thank you for uploading this video. As a westerner living in Tokyo today I find it not hectic at all. And I have lived in New York, Paris, London, Barcelona and find those cities way more hectic. Some of the infrastructure has changed but a lot has maintained.

At 5:33, is that man on the right sleeping through the performance, or does he just have really tiny eyes?

Just wanna say thank you for the video. It's wonderful that YouTube allows private old clips to finally be shown to the world.

What a blast form the past! It brought me back to my childhood. I was born in 1962. I am glad to be able to communicate with the person who actually filmed it. Thank you for uploading it, Michael.

My god. A seemingly random set of circumstances led me here. It started with a vaporwave mix which had some tones in it that interested me. I then got the idea to find out what music was popular in Japan during the 1960s. Came across a playlist with popular music from Japan from the 1950s through 1970s. One song grabbed my soul. It was a folk song from 1969. I then wanted to see what life was like during similar time period in Japan and I am shocked. Not for the reasons you may be suspecting either.
You see, I have had a number of past life memories over the years. One has haunted me since I was a kid. I will not go over too many details but there were certain things I remember from it that match perfectly with the 50s and 60s in Japan. This is the closest I've came to putting a "date" on a past life memory. I have verified one past life memory but can't put a date on it. I have three from Japan. One I narrowed down to the Edo period. The other is unknown. The third, possibly the 1950s to 1960s. This is insane. To the uploader, than you for uploading this video. I REALLY appreciate it.
