While yesterday I uploaded the first night of Tokyo 2007, I'm now going to upload the second night. The Budoukan, Tokyo 21st of November 2007. These two recordings might be the only two solo recordings from 2007! On the first night I complained a bit about Elton's voice which to me sounded very rough. The first impression of this show doesn't, unfortunately, show any signs of improvement. Unlike the first show Elton voice does get better as the show progresses which is great news! Again, the quality is superb (might be the same recorder) and it's a pleasure to listen to the recording. Just before Elton starts to play Your Song he says "good evening" in Japanese which is amazing. A noteworthy thing about Ballad Of The Boy In The Red Shoes is that towards the ending Elton sounds very angry and sings the song very aggresively. The next dramatic moment of this show is some technical problems on Philadelphia Freedom. Obviously Elton is unable to hear himself playing - the audience have no problems - and therefore he has to stop till the technicians have solved the problem while maniacs are screaming. Eventually he has to use another electric piano sound for the first part of the intro. On Electricity (which is the other of the two known solo recordings of the song) Elton sings a false note on the first verse when singing the word 'can' from the line "It's a feeling that you CAN control". This is probably me going into details, but this show is 23 seconds shorter than the first night - very interesting detail! Furthermore Elton once again nails Bennie And The Jets which, just like the first night, is absolutey stunning - with improved vocals! And finally Elton uses another chord progression on the first verse of I'm Still Standing which is unique. - Enjoy!
