The organisers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics announced on Tuesday they are scrapping the logo for the games. The move comes following a further allegation the Japanese designer of the logo may have used copied materials in the presentations of the design. Organisers have supported designer Kenjiro Sano against all allegations he plagiarised the design. However, without public support as a result of the new accusations that Sano allegedly used an image from someone else's website without authorisation, the logo is to be withdrawn effective immediately. Sano has faced allegations of plagiarism since the logo's debut in July. A Belgian designer sued the International Olympic Committee over the similarity to that of his logo for a theatre. Sano denied the allegation, but has faced other plagiarism questions over his past designs. Find out more about AP Archive: http://tinyurl.com/neh3pb4 Story number for this item is: 4002310
