Hamabe no Uta - 浜辺の歌 Is one of the most popular Japanese folk songs. It was composed by Tamezō Narita (1893-1945) in 1914 after he entered the Tokyo Music School of Ueno (now Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music ) and received training from Germany trained Kosaku Yamada. The lyrics were written by Hayashi Kokei which recalled one's memory and reflection of the past.
