I visit Tokyo for about a month every year (mainly to go to AKB48 concerts!) but a lot of the music stores in Tokyo like Tower Records and HMV often have free live music events by various groups from Pop to Rock to Idol groups. Each group usually performs for about 30 minutes and it is FREE!
