The sheer could be used for a small drawstring gift bag like you sometimes get in jewellery/ gift shops, with the hanger purse could you use a large metal hinged purse opener like they use in coin purses ? you push it in to open it ( hope that make sense) or I have seen them made with small dowel. Have you got a walking foot to help with the heavy fabric, sews denim well.  anyway be interested to see what you come up with.
