1. We Will Rock You (fast) - Queen Live in Tokyo 1979 | Tokyo

QUEEN April 25, 1979 Nippon Budokan Tokyo, Japan My attempt to make this footage look better and possibly "newer". It is a little project that is gonna be released on DVD, but there is still stuff to work on before that. Since video side is finished, I decided I would upload it on YouTube for people to watch. I am using the Japanese TV broadcast. Unfortunately the show is incomplete (broadcast was only about 30 minutes) Short description of this show (thanks to queenlive.ca) - Freddie is simply done for, as this is the 6th show in 7 nights. This is probably the worst shape his voice was ever in, to the point where he could barely make it through most of the songs. After Somebody To Love, he says, "This brings us to the last concert in Tokyo for a while, and we're gonna bust our balls for you tonight. That means we're gonna put on a good show. We're gonna try, I tell you!" - an obvious reference to his ailing voice. The rest of the band are in spectacular shape, and make up for any of his shortcomings.

Queen were really, really great, but being "big in Japan" means absolutely nothing! Japan goes nuts for just about every Western band!

fredie was a genius , he had problems with his voice in a few ocattions due to hard and powerful singing but he always pull it off superbly .. Queen was a super band and deserve to be the leyends which they are but I can't say the same from most artists and bands of today .. who Coldplay? The vocalist voice is no even good enough and and their style is so basic and slow which is good before I go to bed to make me fall asleep 😂

FANTASTIC job restoring this footage! My cousin Joe was Queen's lighting director on a few of their tours and he was with them on this tour and can be seen at the start of the clip. He's with Trip Khalaf Queen's soundman. I noticed at 3:40 Queen roadie Peter Hince is on stage right near Freddie's piano and he bows his head on the downbeat as the stage goes to black. Did I read in his book that he controlled the lights on the riser and gong stand? You can see him reach for something.
