total living expenses in Kansas about $1500. Might be more or less. my husband and I spend close to $2200 because of credit card and school debt between us but we make enough to put a little in savings.
-
camp thank later foot since potentially.
-
Are there those cards for the train? In London I know there are Oyster cards so those are a lot cheaper and more convenient.

Oh wow, this really makes me appreciate how cheap it is to live in the Philippines.
Apartment:
anywhere from 80-1000usd (pets depend on where you are staying but usually no extra fees.) but sometimes it's more difficult to find a place if you're a guy since most places are "bedspacers" which usually only allow women.
Utilities:
Depends on your usage but can be around 80-100usd since drinking water from the tap can be iffy.
Internet:
my own pocket wifi is about 20usd/month
Phones:
phone usage depends on your usage since we have a "load" system in place but can be anywhere from 10-30usd/month but you usually have to spend about 250 for a good phone.
Food:
You can probably get by with about 200usd/month if you don't really eat out and cook yourself.
Transportation:
Depends on where you go back and forth but usually don't go over 4usd for round trips a day if you're using regular transportation so about 120/month
All in all it can be as cheap as 520/month if you get the cheapest place you can find. -
you are beautiful with short and long hair :o jealous
-
stupid how you must pay for a pet.

My jaw dropped and I fell down. Japan is so incredibly cheap and such a smart economy...I really wish I could live there. This is not expensive at all. Most 1 bedroom apartments in Seattle cost at least $1400...and that low of a food bill for two people and tiny phone was very impressive.
-
sounds like me, I'm from Texas and have dreams for moving to Tokyo.
-
You have amazing eyes! I am sad to see you leave :(

I am a landlord in left coast USA. 1965-ish 1 BR= $1600 USD, 3 BR=$2300+. New-ish (less than 10 years old) would be 2-3x. Parking/water/garbage included. Electric and nature gas $50/month, Food $300-500 per person. Health insurance=income dependent, low-income uses Obama-care, I pay about $1900/mo for family of 3. I drive and do not take train/bus.
-
it's crazy that you pay more for parking than for rent. haha
-
holy crap that is cheap. maryland is expensive :P
-
No offense, why is this shit in my feed?
-
Thanks for the tip! I'm thinking of moving to Tokyo from Osaka and (though you said it depends on the person) from what you said, actually the costs aren't that different. And I applaud you guys for balancing the budget...I want to hide in a hole! (>_<) Health insurance is a killer for me right now...And I'll be sure to refer to this video again when I get married. (^_^)b

Interesting! Living costs seem very comparable to the cost of living in popular Dutch cities like Amsterdam and Utrecht. The key money is well-known in Amsterdam as well, but illegal there, so if it happens to you you can actually go to the police or municipal rental board and complain.
"In Japan, the average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita is USD 27 323 a year" (OECD better life index) and "In the Netherlands, the average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita is USD 27 759 a year". Pretty close together. -
you are more beautiful without the makeup. your husband is right.
-
sounds reasonable, but then again I'm in sydney
